Is a whey shake essential?

Have a full breakfast within the hour after your session, with a source of protein and some carbs. No need to sprint home, but don't push that meal back to lunchtime.

Here too, timing becomes a genuine lever. With less than eight hours between two sessions, rebuilding glycogen drives your performance. Aim for a snack combining protein and carbs within two hours.
